take the win.

The AW Pep Band fired up
the Generals as they
went on to defeat Caly
6-2 in this NHC league
game at the Huntington
Center. A series
of games were played
this day to raise money
for paralyzed
former Clay hockey
player Kyle Cannon.
This game was also

Clay hockey player Kyle
Cannon at the Huntington
Center, home of the
Walleye. Tickets
can be obtained from any
AW hockey player or
parent, as well as at
the door. Your
ticket is also
redeemable for a Walleye
regular season game.
This is the 4th year the
benefit will be held for
Kyle. Please help
with this worthy cause
by attending the game.

AW made it to the finals
of this points based,
round robin tournament,
facing Southview.
During round robin play
Southview captured 4 out
of 5 points from AW
(actual score 2-1), but
in the final the
Generals dominated the
play, winning the
game 5 goals to 1.

season with win over
Perrysburg
AW put up 5 goals to
none for Perrysburg in a
NHC White division
contest on November 30.
Goal scorers were Mike

Phillips. Assists
came from Cal Johnson
(3), Cody Bowman, Chris

and Brandon Zielinski.

record the shut-out.

The weekend was capped

2012-2013 Season Changes
White and Blue
Divisions Combine,
Bedford moves up to Red
The
White Division will
consist of AW, Fremont
Ross, Clay, Lake,
Maumee, Ottawa Hills,
Perrysburg, Springfield,
Sylvania Southview, and
Whitmer.
Jeri Hoellrich, AW High
School Principal,
assumes the role of
President of the NHC
In what can only
be seen as a positive
note for AW Hockey, Jeri
Hoellrich will be the
Northwest Hockey
Conference President for
the 2012-2013 season.
Thanks go out to Ms.
Hoellrich for taking on
this responsibility.

tournament
Results
AW
Hockey started out the
2012-2013 season with mixed
results. The Generals
were soundly defeated by
Findlay and St. Johns, but
rallied back to tie
Northview and then pound
Springfield 11-1. The
weekend saw the return of
Chris Aubry to the team.
Two new members made their
debut - goalie Alec Smith
who played with Lake last
season, and Austin
Pennell, a sophomore who
played with Honey Baked in
the AAA Little Caesar's
league last year. The
AW Hockey family welcomes
them to the fold, and we
look forward to a great
season with these new and
returning players.

Troy Boze replaces Derek
Helmke as AW Hockey Head

Boehme again will be
assistant coach. New
to the coaching staff this
year is Ted Tucker. Ted was
goalie for the Toledo
Goaldiggers in the 1970's
when they won the Riley Cup
with the likes of Paul
Tantardini, Ian McPhee and
others.

working with the players
and having an exciting
and successful year!
