July Tam-o Tournament Final Results:
AW 7, Clay 2
AW 9, St. Johns Gold 3
AW 11,
Maumee 3
AW 2, Springfield and Friends 2
The Anthony Wayne Generals offense was in high gear this
weekend, outscoring their opponents 29 to 10. AW
played all four games with only 9 or fewer skaters,
while all the other teams except Maumee had over-flowing
benches. Aaron Podbielniak and Mike Kaptur scored
hat tricks. Rob Brubaker and Brandon Zielinski
also scored. Goalie Chris Podbielniak suffered an
upper body injury near the end of the Maumee game as a
result of a collision with a Maumee player.
Defenseman Matt Trautlein assumed the duties in net for
the Springfield and Friends game. The wear and
tear of 3 games with a short bench finally took its toll
in game 4. Overall it was a great weekend for AW
Hockey.
