Game Summary

Bedford broke out to an early lead with 2 goals both scored on "close in" scrums in front of Trent DeLong, the Generals Goalie. Late in the first period Rob Witte took a Zach Ulrich pass in front of Mark Blankenship and beat him to his blocker side. Midway in the second period Ulrich scored the goal that tied the game with the assist to Kevin Hoyle. AW then took its first of two leads as Hoyle scored from close in. Bedford tied it up on a Blake Podgorski goal as AW was unable to clear their defensive zone, With 2:50 left in the game Hoyle made a pass up the middle of the ice to a streaking Ulrich who first beat a Kicking Mule Defenseman and then Blankenship for the lead goal. Late goals by Drew Bachli and Blake Podgorski brought Bedford back for the win. The game was played before approximately 1,000 enthusiastic fans including the Generals Pep band in an atmosphere like no other Anthony Wayne hockey game. The Generals are now 2 and 1 in the NHC White Division and this exciting game demonstrated the league's wisdom in moving the Generals up into the White Division.
