Game Summary

The Generals beat Fremont Ross 7 to 3 to split the two league games of the season and set up the probability of second consecutive Co-Championship of the NHC Blue Division. It could be the 4th consecutive year that the Generals will win or share the championship.

The Little Giants scored on 2 of its first 3 shots to take a 2 to 0 lead just 6:04 into the game. Tyler Hull scored on a breakaway goal and was followed by Austin Wilhelm's power play goal giving Fremont Ross the lead. But things "changed for the better" for AW fans. With only 59 seconds remaining in the 1st period, AW scored the first of 4 goals in less than 6 minutes to take command of the game. Zak Seipel's power play goal on assists from Freshman Matt Trautlein and Zach Ulrich got AW on the board. Then just before the period ending horn sounded, Ulrich beat Ross's Matt Hershey on a spectacular play from Seipel and Rob Witte. Ulrich then scored again just 1:12 into the 2nd Period from Seipel, who had 5 assists in the game, to give the Generals a lead they never relinquished. Just 3:39 later Rob Witte gave AW a two goal lead on great power play goal from Seipel. David Barnes, Freshman Michael Kaptur and Ulrich scored to close out the game. Ulrich had a Hat Trick in the Generals biggest league win of the year.

After the opening salvo by the Little Giants, Dan "Skinny" Koralewski stopped 13 of the last 14 Ross shots on net. He was supported by the Generals Defensemen John Vollmar, Charlie Witte, Zach Tansel, Jake Smith and Trautlein all of whom contributed greatly to the win.
