June Summer Tournament Schedule
The Generals Varsity will play the first of two Summer Tournaments June 26th, 27th and 28th at Tam O'Shanter. Game 1 is Friday the 26th at 9:00 PM on Rink 1 against The Titans which will be a split St. John's team. Game two is Saturday the 27th at 11:00AM on Rink 2 against Maumee. Game 3 will take place Saturday evening at 8:30 against Cleveland Holy Name. The fourth and final game will be Sunday the 28th at 10:30 AM on Rink 1 against St. John's (We assume it should be an entirely separate group of SJJ players).

The Northwest Hockey Conference announced, at its Annual Spring Meeting, that Anthony Wayne has been moved from the Blue Division to the NHC White Division beginning with the 2009-10 season. The Generals will play each of the other White Division teams twice for a 12 game league schedule.

AW opens next season's league play Friday December 4th against Whitmer at 9:30 PM at the Team Toledo Ice House. The following night its back to the Ice House for another league game against Central Catholic. at 7:30 PM.

The Generals Head Coach Dave Faulkner commented that he was appreciative of the dedication and effort from the Generals' players who contributed to four consecutive Blue Division Championships which paved the way to being moved up to the White Division.

The remainder of the 2009-10 Varsity Schedule will be available later this year.

It was also announced the the Anthony Wayne Jr. Varsity will play in four NHC Blue Division Varsity games. The games will not count as league games for the Blue Division Varsity teams. Three of the four games have been scheduled and the forth team requires rescheduling.

Jake Smith Place 3rd in NLL Tennis Doubles

Sophomore Defensman Jake Smith and his partner placed 3rd in the NLL #2 Doubles tournament on Saturday May 9th.

All 5 Seniors Earn NHC All Academic Recognition
Seniors Matt Bolduc, Dan Koralewski, Zak Seipel. Zack Tansel and Charlie Witte earned All NHC Academic Awards for their excellence in the classroom. When considering that these five players were also members of 4 consecutive NHC Blue Division Championship teams, they have had an outstanding experience with AW Hockey. This is the first time that 100% of the graduating seniors were All Academic selections.
Generals Win 4th Straight Division Championship by beating Springfield 13 to 3
Seipel Breaks All Time School Season's Scoring Record with 104 Points

Rob, Charlie and Michael Witte scored a combined 10 points in the Generals rout of Springfield. On some occasions that would be the story, but not this game. First the Generals won their 4th consecutive NHC Blue Division Championship Trophy. Second Zak Seipel's goal just before the end of the first period broke JV Head Coach's School Season's Record. Seipel finished the game with 104 points going into the State District Tournament.

Some Miscellaneous Facts About 2008-09 Season (Updated 4-5-09)

* In NHC Blue Division play AW's opponents have only had 97 shots on goal, while the Generals have scored 99 goals through 10 games.
* The Generals have out-scored non league opponents 84 to 55 in 21 games.
* AW has 3 wins and 2 losses vs. NHC White Division teams.
* The Generals have 1 win and 3 losses against NHC Red Division teams.
* Opponents were out scored 183 to 65 during the 2008-09 season.
* Goalie Dan Koralewski has compiled a 93.4% save percentage and a miniscule Goals Against Average of 2.0 per game. Both are all time school records for an entire season.
* Senior Zak Seipel has set an all time school record with 106 points for the season.
* 19 current Generals are eligible to return for the 2009-10 Season with the possibilty of 3 additional Seniors who may decide to join the team. Up to 10 incoming Freshman, with jr. Generals experience, could decide to play next season.

Weight Training Moved Back 1 Week
The Spring and summer Weight Training sessions will begin one week later than scheduled. The sessions will begin Tuesday June 9th in the AW Weight Room. Contact Coach Faulkner or Coach Dorr for more information.
Tier 1 Lose Final Game to St. John's

The Tier 1 Jr. Generals lost its last game of the season 10 to 3 to St. John's. Aaron Podbielniak had 2 goals and 1 assist, Brandon Zielinski had a goal and 2 assists and Cal Johnson had 3 assists.
